Do I have flat feet?
There is a simple test you can perform to determine if you have flat feet or fallen arches. Simply get your feet wet, then stand on a surface where your footprint will show such as concrete. Then, look at your footprint. A normal footprint will have no water where the arch of the foot is. If you can see the entire outline of your foot, including the arch, you probably have flat feet. Symptoms of flat feet include:
- feet which tire easily
- back pain
- leg pain
- difficulty standing on your toes
- pain, aching, or swelling, especially on the inside of your foot where you arch should be
If you discover that you think you have flat feet, you should consult with your doctor to determine the best treatment plan for you.
